CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Like many others, Amy Hatten will be taking part in her first triathlon this year as she swims, bikes and runs her way through the She Tris triathlon.

But her journey to the starting line is anything but ordinary.

In 2007 while in college, Amy woke up blind.
